Homelessness is a global issue that touches nearly every city I’ve travelled to – from Australia to Europe to Southeast Asia. It’s easy to overlook, but when you slow down and really see the places you visit, you realise how deeply it affects individuals and communities.
After a 33-year career in the Victorian Police, I’ve seen the harsh realities of homelessness up close - the stories behind the statistics, the people behind the pavement. It’s not just about sleeping rough; it’s about broken systems, bad luck, and the fight to survive.
Supporting local homeless organisations is my way of giving back in a practical, meaningful way. These groups provide essential services like shelter, meals, clothing, and job support - and they’re often stretched to their limits. Every adventure we take helps shine a light on their work and contribute to real, local solutions.

Because homelessness doesn't stop at a country’s border. As someone lucky enough to travel the world, I see the need - and opportunity - to make a difference both at home and abroad.
When we adventure in a new city, we connect with grassroots organisations who know their community best. This approach ensures our donations stay local, and our impact is felt right where it's needed. -
I look for groups that are doing hands-on work - feeding and clothing people, providing emergency housing, supporting physical and mental health, and creating long-term pathways out of homelessness.
Transparency, local knowledge, and a clear mission are key. Whenever possible, I meet with these organisations personally, so Travel 4 Good can support them not just financially, but by helping share their story.
