🌄 Travel 4 Good adventure #1: Hike the West Highland Way – June 2025
📍 Destination: Scottish Highlands, Scotland

🥾 Trip Type: Multi-day hike with BYO tent camping
🌍 Cause: Supporting local homeless organisations in Glasgow and Fort William

Adventure overview:
Travel 4 Good’s first-ever group adventure takes us deep into the rugged beauty of the Scottish Highlands as we hike the legendary West Highland Way - 154km of breathtaking trails, lochs, moors, and mountains.
We’ll hike village to village, carrying only what we need, pitching tents beneath the stars, and experiencing the soul of Scotland - together. Along the way, we’ll raise funds for homeless support organisations, ensuring our adventure leaves a lasting impact beyond the trail.

Touch down in Glasgow and meet up with the crew! We’ll head to Milngavie via train to kick off the trek, easing into the trail with a 19km walk (4-5 hours +rest) through countryside and forests.
We’ll land in Drymen by evening and camp in Drymen.

Today we get our first real taste of the Highlands hiking 24km!
Conic Hill brings the views (and the sweat), then we drop down to Loch Lomond and follow the shoreline to Rowardennan. Lakeside vibes and scenic trails all the way.
24 km (6-7 hours +rest)-Permit/Wild camping (can only book permit 4 weeks before) Halfway pt -Balmaha: cafe, a pub, toilets etc

One of the more rugged days, but totally worth it hiking 22km.
The path hugs the loch, twisting through forest, roots, rocks, and epic scenery. You’ll definitely earn that rest stop at the famous Drovers Inn in Inverarnan.
22.5 km (9 hours +rest) Accommodation -camping Beinglas campsite-Booked

Say goodbye to Loch Lomond and hello to open glens and mountain views with a 19km hike.
It’s a gentler day with rolling paths and waterfalls along the way. Tyndrum’s got cozy spots to relax, refuel, and maybe even catch some live music.
19.5 km (5-6 hours) Accommodation - Tyndrum by the way campsites-no advance booking

We’re heading deep into wild Highland country now with a 30km hike.
Wide-open moorlands, dramatic mountain backdrops, and big sky energy all day long. Kingshouse is remote and beautiful—perfect spot to unwind.
14.5 km (4-5 hours +rest) -Wild Camp?

Hiking 14kms, we will start strong with the famous Devil’s Staircase—it’s a climb, but the views are wild. Then it’s a chill downhill cruise into Kinlochleven, a sweet little village tucked between the hills.
16 km (4-5 hours + rest) -Glen Coe resort? (20 min walk 1,4 km)

Final stretch!
We’ll hike 24km through forested trails and glens with Ben Nevis towering in the distance. Feels epic. We’ll wrap things up in Fort William.
